The day off in flagstaff means sunshine, breakfast and a bloody mary.

My name is Melissa Ettman and I find myself on the verge of an adventure. I will be joining a team of 30 other young people on June 18th to ride bicycles from Portland, Maine to Santa Barbara, California, in order to raise money and awareness for affordable housing projects.

The organization Bike & Build is a non-profit that joins together swinging a hammer and pedaling a bicycle. During the 4,000-mile trip we average 75 miles per day. We stop once a week and dedicate a full day to helping a local housing project.
